Baby love

Your beaming smile is bright beyond compare:

The sight of you makes my heart leap with glee.

The softness of your skin so clear and fair,

(You look more like your Dad than you do me!)

Your humour is capricious, ever-changing

At once so quick to laugh and quick to cry.

Tears to giggles, feelings so wide ranging,

So confident yet nervous – loud but shy.

Your energy is boundless – never slow.

You grab, and reach, and strain, and stretch and pull.

So rarely still, forever on the go.

Our tank is just as drained as yours is full!

Five months in, such untold joy and pleasure.

Little one, we’ve found you – our life’s treasure.
