Judas Tree Haiku

Blooms on a tree trunk,
Oh! so bright and visible,
Like a traitor’s kiss.

 

This Haiku was my response to a poetry “challenge” on Twitter as shown below. One reason given for how the Judas Tree got its name is that it was the tree that Judas Iscariot used to hang himself.
